The soft, felt-lined material inside the knife guards protects the blades from scratching and dulling. INSTRUCTIONS & ATTENTION: Hand wash only. Please clean the knives completely and dry them before putting them into the guards. When placing the knives into the sheath (with the knife edge facing the open side), aim at the top right point of the guard first, then slide the knife blade into the cover. Please do not put any knife with a blade thickness over 4.0mm (0.16") into the guards, and do not put any knife with a blade length longer than the guards into the blade cover, as the longer blade will extend out from the open end, defeating the purpose of the knife guards.
